Global Health Student Seminar Series

Welcome from the Director

Welcome to the SNU CGHR’s Global Health Student Seminar Series!

As the Director of the SNU Center for Global Health Research, I am very pleased to introduce our center’s new seminar series—Global Health Student Seminar Series (GHSSS), which is open to students worldwide with a genuine interest in global health and development. In February 2025, our center organized the 2025 AUA Postgraduate Academic Forum on Global Health at Seoul National University Graduate School of Public Health. The forum’s success and the energy we witnessed inspired us to create something more sustained and accessible. This online student seminar series builds directly on that momentum, extending both its mission and its reach.

We hope to achieve three core aims through this series:

First, we want to foster meaningful academic exchange among students from diverse cultural backgrounds. Global health challenges don’t respect borders, and neither should our conversations about them. This series is a space where perspectives from different regions, disciplines, and experiences can come together.

Second, we aim to strengthen research capabilities through peer learning. Some of the most valuable learning happens not in formal lectures, but in dialogue with fellow students who are grappling with similar questions and challenges. We hope this series becomes a platform for that kind of mutual growth.

Third, we want to build a sustainable global network for discussing pressing health and development challenges. The relationships and connections you form here can extend far beyond these seminars—they can become the foundation for future collaborations, research partnerships, and lifelong professional networks.

To achieve these goals, we welcome student researchers who have a serious interest in global health and development cooperation and are willing to engage thoughtfully and contribute actively. Looking ahead, we plan to hold this seminar series roughly bimonthly. We hope students participate not only as audience members, but also as presenters. If you are working on research that you would like to share, if you have ideas you want to discuss, or if you are exploring questions that might benefit from this kind of international dialogue, we encourage you to step forward. Please reach out to us through our center’s email if you are interested in presenting. We would be delighted to feature your work.

Your presence makes this series possible, and your engagement will make it meaningful.
Thank you for your interest in the Global Health Student Seminar Series(GHSSS).
