About Center for Global Health Research
About CGHR
Health is a valuable life goal and a social right for everyone.
However, we live in a world where health inequalities are pervasive across regions and countries. These inequalities stem from the unequal distribution of social resources, and they lead to even deeper disparities through the correlation between poor health and poverty.
The Center for Global Health Research under the Institute of Health and Environment at Seoul National University was established with the aim of exploring the factors contributing to health inequalities and helping to reduce these disparities, ultimately enhancing global health.
To achieve this objective, the Center primarily focuses on research to generate evidence and improve health project implementation, as well as on education and training to develop a skilled workforce in international health.
As part of this effort, it employs multidisciplinary approaches in various fields—including health systems, health coverage, disease control, health promotion, and environmental health—integrating theory with practical activities.
Additionally, it seeks to contribute to a healthier world for all by fostering exchanges with relevant institutions, organizations, and researchers internationally, and by cooperating within Korea not only with the international health sector but also with organizations related to international development cooperation and NGOs.
