Global Health

Global health studies is a study of health issues related to health inequality using international cooperation and a multidisciplinary approach to improve health and achieve equity at the global level. This course is an introduction to global health-related subjects and introduces views on the history of global health, social theory, ethical issues, and moral values. In addition, it examines the current status of disease burden and inequality in health status by country, and discusses influencing factors and improvement policies. Through a multidisciplinary approach, recent global health issues are also examined, and the prospects and challenges of global health are discussed.

Global Health Research Methodology

The importance and necessity of research in the field of global health are increasing day by day, and accordingly, discussions on research ethics and methodology are also becoming active. This course introduces research methodologies used in the field of global health and helps students develop their ability to design and conduct global health-related research by examining actual application cases. Through case analysis, ethical issues, which are particularly issues in the global health field, are also discussed.

Global Health Policy

This course introduces the main concepts and principles used to make and implement policies in the context of global health to help students understand the process of establishing international health policy. In the first module, we look at the process of applying and expanding theories and principles accompanying the process of planning, execution, and evaluation of public and health policies in general to international health policy. In the second module, we learn how to evaluate and analyze global health policy through actual policy cases in developing countries.

Global Health Seminar

In recent years, the field and interest of global health are rapidly expanding due to the results of the globalization process, the development and dissemination of technology, and the emergence of sudden infectious diseases worldwide. This course discusses the latest trends and recent cases of global health policy in the form of seminars beyond those covered in the existing “Global Health” lecture, which is an introduction to global health.

Development and Evaluation of Global Health Projects

The development and evaluation of health programs within the global health sector requires a broader perspective, a systematic approach, and consideration of regional specificity due to the socio-economic and political difficulties many developing countries face. The main goal of this course is to examine the matters to be considered throughout the entire stage, from the planning stage of health projects to the implementation, monitoring, and evaluation of projects in developing countries, and to systematically learn the theories and methodologies of each stage. It also provides students with the opportunity to directly plan health programs that take into account the socio-cultural economic specificity of developing countries, health care needs, the degree of community participation, and the sustainability of health projects, and to establish a project monitoring and evaluation plan.
